Welcome to the Try Orchard! demo site!

This is a walkthrough trip which demonstrates you some basic Orchard settings.

Important informations about this trip:
1. If you close a tip window the trip ends.
2. Always read the instructions.
3. If you want to go to the next tip, click on the "Next" button, otherwise the trip ends.
4. Pro tip: if you have a "Next" button, always click on it.
5. Do things only if the trip tells so, otherwise you won't get the next instruction.
6. To restart the trip open the demo site in another window/tab.
This trip and demo site is maintained by Lombiq for the Orchard community.
You can sign in here with admin/password. After logging in the link to the Dashboard will be shown here.

Remember: use admin/password to log in.
At the bottom of the page the "Dashboard" link will lead you to the admin site.

Creating a new page.

Now we'll show you how to create a new page.
You can create a new page here.
Let's create a new page!
This will be the title of the new page. By default this will be shown before the content (layout) of the page.
Type here the page's content. This is a rich text editor, so you have some basic formatting options like creating lists, inserting media. But you can edit the HTML output too.
This button will save and publish the page.
If you only want to save the page, but not publish it, click this button. This will create a draft that you can publish later.
Now create a page and publish it!
Good job, your page is created!

Now we'll show you how to create menu items and how to create an item for this page.
Click here to manage menus!
Here you can select the menu that you want to edit.
Here you can add new a menu.
These are the existing menu items.

Managing menu items is very easy:
- With drag & drop you can change the order (by dragging vertically) and create multi-level menus (by dragging items horizontally).
- Click Edit to edit them.
- And click Delete to remove them.
On this panel you can add new menu entries.

The most important options are:
- Content Menu Item: with this you can easily pick from existing content items like pages, blogs or anything else.
- Custom Link: this is good for adding external links e.g.: https://lombiq.com/ (this makes your site much cooler ;)).
- Html Menu Item: any custom HTML code.
- The others are more advanced (but they are really good features).
Now create a menu entry for your page!
1. Select the "Main menu", from the menu selector.
2. Add a Content Menu Item (click on the "Add" button).
This is the title of the menu item.
This is The Ultimate Content Item Picker. With this you can select any content item.
Now create a menu item for your page!
1. Type a name.
2. Pick your page.
3. Hit save.
4. So easy and cool! :)
Good job, your page is available from the menu!

Creating a new blog.

Now we'll show you how to create a new blog.
You can create a new blog here.
Let's create a new blog!
This will be the title of the new blog. By default this will be shown before the list of blog posts.
This is just a short description.
With this you can set the maximum number of posts per page.
If you want to show your blog's link on a menu, here you can set it (like before on the page's editor) and the menu item's title too.
Finally, save your new blog.
Now create your blog with a menu entry on the "Main menu" (this is the menu at the top of the site).
Good job, your blog is ready to share your thoughts!

Now we'll show you how to create blog posts.

Let's create a new blog post!
This is the title of your new blog post. This will be shown in the blog's blog post list and at the top of the post.
This is a rich editor too. Type your smart surroundings here.
Here you can insert an image, this button will show you a super cool image organizer tool (aka. Media Library), where you can upload, edit and organize your images. (There are some useful extensions to this library under Modules.)
You can allow commenting here.
Now let's create a test post, allow commenting and publish it!

Now we'll show you how to comment under a post.

First go to the homepage!
This link will lead you to the homepage.
1. In the Main menu, click on the blog you just created.
2. Select a blog post.
3. Under the post type your comment and send it!
4. When the comment appears go back to the admin site!

Now let's do some comment moderation.
Click here to manage comments.
Here you can manage comments:
- approval/unapproval,
- moderation,
- and removal.
You can also manage multiple comments together, tick checkboxes below to select comments, then choose an action here to apply it to the selected comments.
Now you can create pages, blogs, posts and moderate comments! Let us show you some user management too.
User management.

Now we'll show you how to manage users.
Click here to manage users.
By default we have only one user, the admin user created when setting up the site. Let's create another one.
Click here to

create a user.
You can set the name, e-mail and password here.

Then you can give the user various roles.
Here you can manage the site settings.

Under this menu there is a "Users" submenu as well, where you can manage how users can create accounts.
Now let's click on the "Users" submenu under the "Settings" menu!
Here you can allow users to create new accounts on the site.
With this you can enforce the verification of e-mail addresses.
And with this you can enable manual approval, so freshly registered users won't be able to log in without your approval.
Now we know enough to create and manage a site with a blog and its users.
